EAT: Cheat Meals

So I had this conversation with my friend the other day regarding cheat meals. She asked, "Do you ever have cheat meals?"

I said to her, "No, not at the moment because I'm competing, but when I'm not on a strict meal plan, I do give myself a victory meal." I started calling cheat meals victory meals because they are now used to celebrate an accomplishment in my fitness journey. While working with my coach these "victory meals" were typically when I had dropped to a certain goal weight or body fat percentage. I don't believe in cheat meals once a week or eating bad on the weekends and really good during the week.

Fitness is like a marriage, you can't cheat on it and expect it to work. All the hard work and effort put into one week can be destroyed by a weekend of debauchery so if you are going to have a cheat meal just be mindful of the amount, what you're eating, and if its a cheat meal vs a "victory meal".
