Its almost time to wrap up 2015 and place it on the shelf! I seriously can't believe that today is the last day of November and in a blink of an eye it's Christmas time. Like most people I spend December thinking about 2016, what's in store for me next year, and the 365 days of opportunity to learn and grow as a human! There are a few fitness goals I have my eyes set on. I may or may not regret sharing this with you all, but it's one way of accountability which I'm a firm believer in.
Here are my top 4:
1. To place top 5 in an NPC Competition. ( I said I was taking a year off of competing and training, but let's be real, I LOVE the pressure and discipline. I've found my athletic drive and I don't want to let it go)
2. To finally have some abs! We all know that in order to get abs it's going to take commitment. I've had about 7 months to build some muscle and I can't wait to work with my coach Michelle Mein to peel back some layers to see what her nutrition and workout guidance has built. #ilovecarbs
3. To continue to incorporate my yoga practice daily. I've found a love for yoga and now see the immense benefit even the smallest amount of practice can do for one's body and soul, I don't want to lose it! Incorporating a small yoga practice between 15-60 minutes a day has helped with my recent muscle injuries, helped provide me that mid day energy jolt I need at work, and has helped me relax at night.
4. To strive for self love in every single stage of this fitness journey. I never expected to have the amount of setbacks as I did with fitness this year. It's been such a mind F$%&! Earlier this year, I had to unexpectedly switch coaches during my competition prep in March, pulled out of my second competition for the year due to a busy #girlboss schedule, and having to spend some time slowing my gym game down due to a shoulder injury. I'm learning to give myself grace and extra love so that I can keep going! Self motivation can be so hard when you feel dibilated, but giving myself that extra TLC has been helping to build my inner strength.
