I have a love and hate for yoga. I know its good for me, but man do I struggle getting into the poses and centering myself. I was talking to a friend the other night and we both were talking about somehow in yoga our ADHD kicks in and we're looking for the next moment or pose or something. But then somehow in the midst of your practice something switches and you're able to practice and tune in to that mindfulness we all need to be seeking.
One of the things I've learned about yoga is that besides being really beneficial for your mind, body, and spirit; its a self-care practice. Yoga exercises your mind and body's ability to focus within. Something that each of us can do a little more of in our daily lives. With all the exposure that we have to digital media. Yoga teaches us to declutter our minds from the opinions of others and even ourselves. It teaches us how to be present in the moment and to observe our bodies in each pose. I often try to set a goal or intention to add more yoga in my day and lately its been a bit of a challenge.
