Travel Essentials for Fitness Adventurer

Every time I travel there are a few things that I pack that are a must have so that I can live life to the fullest and document my adventures. This trip to Kauai was no exception. My husband was lucky enough to book a wedding to photograph out here in Kauai, thankfully we’ve been blessed enough to be able to go to Hawaii each year for the past five years both alone together and with the fam bams.

Thankfully Hawaii is one of those places where you can remain as active as you want to be or relax as much the soul desires. I like to pack for both of those priorities for any trip. Below are my must haves.

Must haves to stay on top your fitness game include:

  • Nike Free Run Flyknits. These are probably one of the lightest shoes you can pack on any adventure. Nike Frees are designed to be low profile shoes and when paired with the Flyknit material these shoes are lighter than air and perfect to throw in your carry-on.

  • S’well Bottles - I’m obsessed with my S’well Bottles, that’s no secret especially if you follow me on Instagram seeing all the different colors and sizes posted in nearly every post.

  • Workout gear - pictured here are a pair of Hatha Shorts by Lucy Activewear, I normally don’t like running or training in shorts because they seem to ride up, but these stay perfectly put without worrying about any wardrobe malfunctions.

  • My Apple Watch to keep track of my fitness and my phone downloaded with my favorite training app by Nike, the NTC Training App which is free! They recently updated it so that you can create your own training program designed specifically towards your training goals. One awesome thing about the program is that you can select a workout program that doesn’t require any equipment in case your hotel or AirBnb doesn’t have a gym.

  • Plantronics Back Beat Fit - my favorite bluetooth headset.

  • The X-Bands, my favorite workout equipment to take ANYWHERE on the planet. These bad boys add resistance to any plyometrics based workout, perfect if you’re the kind of person who loves a little challenge with your exercise routine. Use GOFITJO upon check out to get 10% OFF!

  • Trial size pre-workout and post workout supplements that I picked up at my local nutrition store before I left so I didn’t have to pack my own from home. This is one of the best fit hacks ever. Not only do you get to try something new, but you don’t have to worry about being home without any of your glutamine or BCAAs.

Travel Essentials for the adventurer:

  • Teva Sandals - These are the Ombre Slip Ons and so perfect to throw on during any type of outdoor adventure. They are super light and fit perfect for my laid back island style looks here in Hawaii and my dressed up tailored looks back on the mainland.
  • My FujiFilm Instax to capture all those fun light hearted moments with the hubs.

  • Jambox Mini by Jawbone to play all our island jams on the beach

  • Sunnies by ZeroUV - These Oversized Thin Cross Brow have been my absolute favorite lately.

  • A Mophie charger to keep our mobile devices alive and well while sharing our trips on Snapchat and IG Stories.

  • Sony A7ii, my favorite compact DSLR that goes with me on every adventure. I have two lenses the 35MM 2.0 and 55mm 1.8, my absolute photography essentials.

Many thanks to Teva for collaborating with me on this must have travel post. These sandals have been my favorite lately and they are killing it with their latest styles.

I'd love to know, what do are your must-haves for your trip?

I’m a mother of two beautiful daughters and married to a man who completes me. I started my fitness journey as a way to heal my soul and launched my blog in hopes to continue to inspire and empower women to use fitness as a tool to heal depression and find their self worth. I strongly believe that each woman deserves to be in love with herself just as much as her man does. I have an obsession with reusable water bottles, I enjoy action movies, and I’m in love with burpees.
