Write More, It's Healthy!

It seems that searching for ways to stay centered and aware with our mind and body are on the rise these days. We're all searching simple ways to incorporate health and wellness into our lives. One thing that I have found that has really helped me center myself is writing.

Some say that 10-15 minutes of daily writing can help improve your health. During Nine Retreat one of the speakers Fawn Deviney shared the importance of journaling for creativity and gave us some easy prompts to start your writing journey.

If you're not sure where to start you can start with your senses:

  1. Today I feel...
  2. Right now I see...
  3. I can taste...
  4. I touch...
  5. At this moment I can hear...

I love to write about anything, including my scattered thoughts which often times becomes my blog posts or my inspiration for my Instagram posts. Writing has also helped me calm my anxiety, which is the reason why you'll often see me carrying around a notebook where ever I go. I recently discovered Denik after they reached out to me to send me a few notebooks. In an instant I fell in love with their mission, the integrity they uphold, and the devotion they have to education by donating proceeds of their sales to building schools around the world. Currently they have partnered with several organizations in Laos, Guatemala, and Mali. Art is something that thrives in our household and I love a company who's finding ways to use creative talents to make an impact on the world!

The photos above were provided to me by Denik along with the notebooks that they have so graciously given me along with our collaboration for swag gifts at my recently hosted SoulCycle ride. However, all the opinions expressed here are my own.

I’m a mother of two beautiful daughters and married to a man who completes me. I started my fitness journey as a way to heal my soul and launched my blog in hopes to continue to inspire and empower women to use fitness as a tool to heal depression and find their self worth. I strongly believe that each woman deserves to be in love with herself just as much as her man does. I have an obsession with reusable water bottles, I enjoy action movies, and I’m in love with burpees.
