Summer is here and its that time of the year where we honor the right to bear arms and legs! That’s why its key to have products that will keep your skin soft and smooth all season. Your skin goes through a lot especially during the summer months between excessive sun exposure and sweat. There are some that say exfoliation can increase skin sensitivity by about 45%. While others say that exfoliation during the summer should remain the same like any other season. Generally I like to exfoliate at least 2-3 days out of the week and will often cut back during the summer months because, let’s be real, I’d rather spend more time by the pool.
Here are 6 of my summer body care must haves that I swear by for summer!
Fytt Beauty scrub is something I’ve been using lately and have really fallen in love with it. The HIIT Restart is formulated with a bunch of super foods like Kale, Spinach, Spirulina, Cucumber, and flaxseed. It’s not only designed to detoxify and exfoliate the skin, but its also made to make your skin healthier, smoother, and firmer over time. Not to mention the HIIT Restart smells exactly like the smoothies I make at home. The first time I used it, the shower I wanted to drink it, NO JOKE!
Frank Body Scrub is my other all time favorite body scrub. It sorta holds this special place in my heart because it was the first product I bought after seeing it all over Instagram. I feel for the hype and it was worth it. Each of their coffee scrubs is blended with an essential oil designed to help soothe your body in a unique way. My favorite is the peppermint. It’s relaxing to breathe in and after a long brutal work out its soothing for tired muscles. Frank Body Scrub is a great buy if you want to travel wth your scrub because it comes in an easy to pack container and you don’t have to worry about TSA rules.
Next up is Raw Sugar Living’s Sugar Scrub. I worked with Raw Sugar Living not too long ago and was surprisingly impressed with the sugar scrub. The first things I noticed was the consistency. Since it’s a sugar based scrub the consistency of the product feels more refine and it does an amazing job sloughing off all my dead skin leaving my legs super soft. You can find Raw Sugar Living and their entire line of products at Target. Another personal plus about this product because its easily accessible and who doesn’t love a Target run?
On to moisturizing! With the exception of Fytt Beauty scrub, both Frank Body Scrub and Raw Sugar Living leaving my skin feeling pretty amazing immediately after the shower thanks to the coconut oils used in each of the scrub. But when I’m in need of moisturizing I like to depend on Raw Sugar Living’s Body Butter (also found at Target). I love the smell of it and the cold pressed technology used in developing their products ensures all the benefits of the plant based ingredients are being soaked up by my skin.
On days I take my showers in the evening I love to use something a little bit more luxurious. Mūn Skincare’s Ayour Body Toning Serum and Argan Pure Argan Oil are the first things that hit my skin. When I first got my hands on Mūn Skincare I hate to admit it but I was a bit apprehensive to believe that a completely natural skin care line could make my skin feel luxurious and as incredible as some of the other luxury skincare products I’ve tried. Mūn simplifies beauty through innovation. The line was designed by an extremely talented make up artist Meunemi Imai who’s dedicated to grow a results driving skin care line.
I love the layer these two together. So my usual steps are to scrub my skin with any of the three scrubs listed above and follow it up with Ayour Body Toning Serum and after its fully soaked into my skin I layer a thin layer of Argan Pure Argan Oil. One other thing I love about the Argan Oil is that I can use this product on my face and hair. When I’m in a bind and need extra shine on the ends of my locks, a couple of drops into my hand and lightly massaged into my hair gives it the luster I need.
And last but not least is sun protection. I’m probably the worst tattooed girl ever! I love sun, I can’t avoid it and every tattoo artist warned me about sun exposure and my tattoos. And although I’m very well aware that its also good for you to wear sunscreen. I’m a sucker for good branding and when I was cruising through the aisles of Target to stock up on sunscreen the kids picked up Sun Bum because of the monkey, but truth be told its been a household favorite for years now. We love all their products from the shampoo and conditioner all the way to their post sun Cool Down Hydrating After Sun Lotion. The sunscreen is noncomedogenic which means it doesn’t clog or block the pores, paragon free, and hypoallergenic. Our family suffers from a little bit of psoriasis and eczema so this sunscreen is perfect for us.
