Albion Fit Review and Giveaway

I've been seeing Albion Fit all over Instagram lately even one of my good fashion blogger friends Maddie of BLACKWHITEANDBRUNETTE was rocking some that I had to pull the trigger and give it a try!

I picked up a pair of the Antigua Black slate leggings and absolutely love them. As you know I'm all about brands that have a little heart in what they do. Albion Fit is a local family owned brand from Utah. They are all about providing women with hassle free fitness apparel which you can take from your workouts to the grocery store. My kind of living if you ask me! I love the leggings, they are high quality and move and hug pretty nicely. I haven't had the chance to work out with them yet, but I'll definitely update this the moment I get some box jumps in with them. One of things I did notice is that that they aren't quite made for me 5'2" height and I'm either going to have to get them altered which cuts off their logo at the ankle or I just have to have them scrunched a bit at the bottom. One of PROS I did notice with them is that they are made with a heavy duty garment that wont have your unmentionables peeking through while doing a downward dog, but light enough that it feels like you're wearing second skin.

Winter is coming and fall is starting to turn here in lovely Northern California so naturally lounge wear is coming right around the corner. Thankfully I work at a startup where we can wear whatever we want and as much as I want to rock my workout gear in the office, I would probably give my own self a hard time for doing so. Since Fall is here it's time to bust out the warm cozy knits, pumpkin spice, and hot cocoa.

I love pairing my workout leggings with cozy knits. Its sorta perfect for hitting it hard in the gym and then running errands or meeting girlfriends for Sunday brunch after.

STYLE // From Gym to Brunch

I know its a cardinal rule to not wear your workout clothes out and about, but the truth is there are some rules we need to break! I was hesitant in the beginning when activewear was starting to pave a road to making itself a trend, but slowly began to fall in love with it as it began to make more sense with my new found lifestyle.

One trend that I love and believe is here to stay is joggers and heels! There's something so comfy about these 7/8 pants that are looser throughout the thigh area (because let's face it, we like to squat) and begin to taper down towards the ankles. They are cute enough to wear with some sportswear sneakers and perfect to rock with heels. I just recently picked up the Dashing Stripes pants from Lucy Activewear and it's been a wardrobe item that has been replayed over and over in the past few weeks. I travelled off with Sebastopol last weekend to second shoot for my husband and wore them in the car on our 2 hour drive. It was so comfy and the fabric feels like a nice light blanket that wraps you in comfort. What I love about these pants is, if I did ever decide to work out with them it's moisture wicking fabric allows me and I can throw on some heels or Birkenstocks and wear them out for a Sunday brunch.

Tips on dressing up your joggers:

  1. Keep it simple. Don't over do the look. Keep to solid colors and simple pieces like simple tanks, tees, and crop tops. I'm a fan of black, white, and grey (obviously).
  2. Mix Textures. If you can find leather joggers, do it! And mix the top with a piece that has some texture, like fur, shag, or simple cotton.
  3. All in the bag! If you're dressing up your joggers for a night out or a for brunch, make sure to bring out a statement bag. A fun clutch or awesome purse ties the look together.
  4. Shoes. Keep the heels under 4.5 inches, but not lower than 1.5 inches. I always feel that this look is best dressed up with a mid heel. You want to keep the look like you simply threw things on and made it look effortless.
  5. Have fun with it!

STYLE: Lululemon Pencil Skirt

Can we just talk about my recent fashion fit find happens to be a pencil skirt from Lululemon?

Yes, believe it, its made out of luon, sweat wicking, and hot as summer! I've been in love with grey, black, and white as wardrobe essentials lately. I had a brief conversation with a coworker about how our color palettes with our clothing have been in this 50 shade of grey lately. We came to the conclusion that staying in that palette simplifies our life and keeps us looking stylish from day to day.

Side note: I really need to start having my husband take my OOTD photos instead of using my Timer App on my iPhone. But like Tim Gunn says, "Make it work!"
